Advantages of a Waterfed Pole System

For window washers, it sound too good to be true. A Waterfed Pole (WFP) system that uses no soap or chemicals to clean commercial windows. The water is pure and it leaves no marks when it dries. Purified water is a great cleaning agent. Believe it or not.

After the water is purified it is forced through hoses to a water fed pole that is made of carbon fiber and weighs about six pounds. The water then travels up the pole and onto the attached brush. The operator first cleans the window frame then attacks the window brushing it to remove the dirt and grime and then rinsing it with the pure water. The window dries naturally and is streak free.

So where do they get pure water? That’s an easy one. They purify the water by running it through filters that contain natural elements like salt, resin beads and a carbon sediment and are environmentally safe. Companies that use this system often have trucks or vans with large containers for the purified water that is then pumped up to the WFP to the window. Smaller firms sometimes use trolleys or backpacks to move a small container and pump unit.

The system causes no damage to the building or areas surrounding the windows. One trained operator can easily control the system that is faster and more a more efficient way of cleaning windows. The operator never leaves the ground and uses no ladders or other means to reach the windows. No rental equipment is needed. Time saved by using this system is about 60% faster.

The lightweight and rigid pole, made from carbon fiber, is easily handled and doesn’t cause fatigue like the heavier poles that are made from aluminum or fiberglass.

Thirty feet is an average job, but when the windows are eighty feet high, a man stands on the roof with a rope attached to the pole that will help keep it in place.

For companies with property managers, the WFP system is ideal because it is less expensive in time and dollars. The system is a highly valuable option for one who is looking for safer and cheaper ways to clean their windows.

Not only commercial windows benefit from the WFP system, smaller operators love the systems for private homes because they can wash more windows with far lower costs and it takes only one operator to handle the entire system.
