In the past we've offered tips on how to create a do-it-yourself window cleaning solution. We've also acknowledged that different types of glass may require different types of solutions as some solutions may contain chemicals that are too abrasive or corrosive for certain types of glass. In this post however we'll talk a little bit about the chemicals we use as professional window cleaners. In the vast majority of scenarios we use soaps and other chemicals that are nonabrasive, environmentally friendly, contains no solvents, ammonia, or even alkali. Furthermore professional cleaning solutions tend to be biodegradable so homeowners needn't worry about the environment when hiring a professional to clean their windows.
In addition to all of the aforementioned things, professional cleaning solutions generally contain very little suds or soap bubbles because these things can reek havoc on both squeegees and glass. Too many suds essentially equals streaks and spots.
