Professional Grade Orange County Window Cleaning Tools

A lot of our clients are often curious about what type of professional Orange County window cleaning tools we utilize. When we answer this question for those of our clients who ask, they're often let down when they learn that the tools we professional use aren't much different from those that the layperson might use to clean their own windows.

Of course we use things like squeegees, towels, and cleaning solutions in order to get the job done but where are tools differ from those of the layperson is in quality, cost, durability and composition. The squeegees a professional Orange County window cleaner uses not only cost more than a standard store-bought squeegee but are designed and built to withstand the rigorous process of a professional window cleaning. The squeegees, brushes, and even towels used by professionals often last much longer and do a better job of cleaning windows then do your run-of-the-mill store-bought tools.

We mentioned previously that like the layperson, we also utilize a cleaning solution though ours differs from homemade solutions in quality of chemicals, the type of chemicals, and the strength of the actual solution. Moreover professional Orange County window cleaners often have access to and utilize specific cleaning solutions in different scenarios. Not all windows are made equally or from the same type of glass and therefore may require a professional window cleaner to utilize a solution other than the standard one.

Though all of our tools and cleaning solutions do differ from those of the layperson or homeowner, it's our experience as professionals that really sets us apart from an individual whom you might see cleaning his or her windows.

Should you have any questions regarding the tools or cleaning solutions that we utilize please don't hesitate to contact us so that we may be of assistance!

Orange County Window Cleaning: Do-It-Yourself Tips

While we pride ourselves on offering window cleaning services that are more affordable than those of our competitors, we understand that not all homeowners have the finances to call on Orange County window cleaning specialists every single time their windows become dirty. For those homeowners who want to save some money by cleaning their windows themselves, we offer the following tips!

Tools

While professional Orange County window cleaners utilize specialized pro grade tools in their jobs, the layperson will surprisingly be able to do a bang up job on their windows with just a few simple tools. You'll want to make sure you have the following tools before you clean your own windows.

  • Squeegee
  • Scrubbing wand
  • Scraper
  • Lint free towels
Window Cleaning Solution

Homeowners can mix their own window cleaning solution rather easily. Moreover the mixture is relatively cheap and is safe to use on all types of windows. A simple mix will consist of water, a base, and for homes with windows in direct sunlight, a glide of some sort. For bases homeowners can start wit simple dish washing soaps. It's important to keep in mind however that different brands of dish washing soap produce different results. Some brands will require a homeowner to use more in their mix while others will require less. Glides are fairly straightforward. A smooth gliding agent helps to increase glide for the squeegees and reduces quick evaporation caused from the suds or bubbles produced from the soap.

Avoid These Chemicals

While there are many chemicals that are safe for do it yourself use, homeowners should be avoided in any scenario that doesn't necessitate hard scrubbing techniques! If you must use these chemicals you should first consult with an Orange County window cleaning professional!

  • Alcohol
  • Ammonia
  • Vinegar
If a homeowner is ever in doubt as what chemicals to use, avoid, or is unsure how to proceed with cleaning their own windows, consult a professional before moving forward with any cleaning project.

Orange County Window Cleaning

Unless you live in a hole in the ground, at some time in your life you will, or rather should clean your windows. Some prefer to use ammonia, others vinegar and newspa-pers, others will buy the cheapest Orange County window cleaner on the market. They all probably work, and since you’ve put it off until you can’t see outside, unless you’ve planned ahead, you’ll simply use what you have on hand.

On the outside a bucket of hot water, a sponge, plastic gloves, and some dish soap will do the trick. But whatever you do don’t let it dry before you rinse it off with the hose, then let it air dry. Or after rinsing you could dry and shine the windows with a clean towel, and best not to use a towel that has had softener added to the washer.

To get the best result, don’t wash your windows in the bright sun because they will streak. Wash before the sun shines on them. Do the shadiest part in the morning and the other side of your house in the late afternoon after the sun has passed. If anyone asks what you’re doing, tell them you’re washing windows. You alone know that it took all day, but when the sun was high in the sky, you took your afternoon nap or read a book.

It goes without saying that you don’t want to wash the inside of your windows in the same way. Spray on that window cleaner, you may want to use a squeegee to wipe the window cleaner off. With each swipe dry the squeegee on a towel. Or you could use one towel to clean the window, then another to dry and shine it. And don’t forget the window ledge outside and inside. Spiders like to hide there, so be careful. But wipe those ledges off with a damp cloth.

A sprinkler spraying your windows in the hot sun can damage a window, and no matter how hard you try to clean it, as soon as it dries there are those spots again. You may have to use a harsher cleaner like Lime Away, but don’t use anything that will scratch your window, or you may have to call in a contractor to put in another window.

If there are small children around your home, it may be almost impossible to keep your windows clean. Their kisses and fingerprints ruin your newly cleaned windows, but you don’t mind. Just get that cleaner out and run a quick towel over the spot, smile and say “I really wanted children.”
